Terms of Use
Plain terms for a small app. They are between you and [DEVELOPER LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS], contact help@milvocards.com.
Before this page ships
[LEGAL REVIEW PENDING] — the sections on withdrawal, liability and governing law need a lawyer's eye before the first release. Everything else describes how the app actually behaves.
What Milvo does
Milvo reads the link stored on an NFC card you already own and writes that same link onto a blank NFC card you also own. It creates no content of its own, provides no audio, and gives you access to nothing you did not already have.
Milvo is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Yoto Limited, and it is not a way around anything: it copies your own link between your own cards, for your own use.
Your licence
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you control. You may not resell it, rent it, or present it as your own product. The app itself remains ours.
Where you installed the app from a store, that store's own licence terms also apply to the copy you installed.
Cards, chips and one irreversible step
Only one kind of blank card works: MIFARE Ultralight EV1, 48 bytes · MF0UL11. You buy those cards yourself, from whoever you like; we do not sell them and we are not party to that purchase.
- The app checks the chip in the same session, before it sends any write command, and refuses outright when the chip is wrong. There is no override.
- One part of such a card — its capability settings — can be written only once and cannot be returned to its original state afterwards. That is a property of the hardware, not a choice the app makes.
- Interrupting a write does not damage a card: writes land one whole page at a time, and the next attempt rewrites every page.
We are not responsible for cards that were the wrong type, faulty, counterfeit, already locked or password-protected by other software, nor for what a player does with a card afterwards.
How you may use it
Use Milvo for your own cards and your own content. Do not use it to copy links to cards you do not own, to resell cards made with it as if they were someone else's product, or in any way that breaks the law or somebody else's rights.
Payment
- Checking cards is free, unlimited, and stays that way.
- The first card you make is free. After that, a single purchase unlocks unlimited cards. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and nothing renews.
- The free card is only counted as used once a card has been written and read back successfully. Failed attempts never count.
- The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency.
- The store is the seller of the unlock and processes the payment. Restoring the purchase on a new device is done from within the app, through the same store account.
Refunds
Our policy is short: if the unlock does not work for you and we cannot fix it, you get your money back. Write to help@milvocards.com and describe what happened; we aim to answer within [RESPONSE TIME].
- On Google Play, purchases can usually be refunded by you directly within 48 hours of buying, through Google's own refund process. After that window, ask us.
- On the App Store, refunds are requested from Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- A refund switches the unlock off again; the app checks its status with the store.
We do not refund the cost of blank cards bought from someone else, or cards spent on a chip the app told you would not work.
If this policy changes, the change is published on this page and the date at the top is updated.
Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)
[LEGAL REVIEW PENDING] — as a consumer in the EU you generally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase of digital content, unless performance began immediately with your express consent and acknowledgement that the right is thereby lost. Because the unlock takes effect the moment it is bought, that exception is likely to apply. The exact wording, and how consent is captured in the purchase flow, is to be confirmed before release.
Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided as it is. We have tested it on physical cards and built it to refuse rather than risk your card, but we cannot promise it will suit every purpose, every phone or every card on the market.
[LEGAL REVIEW PENDING] — to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Trademarks
"Yoto" and "MYO" are trademarks of Yoto Limited. MIFARE and Ultralight are trademarks of NXP B.V. They are used on this site and in the app only to describe what the app is compatible with. No endorsement is claimed or implied.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address, with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means the new version applies.
