Five things that explain almost every report

The player will not play the card you made

Almost always the chip. Only MIFARE Ultralight EV1 · 48 bytes · MF0UL11 is played; NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216, the 128-byte Ultralight EV1 (MF0UL21), Ultralight C and MIFARE Classic are not, and no app can change that.

If the app wrote the card and confirmed it by reading it back, the link on the card is correct — so look at the card type first, and at the download step second.

The card is written, but the player is silent

A freshly linked playlist still has to be downloaded by the player itself. Put the player on Wi-Fi, leave it for a few minutes and try again.

This is the single most common "it does not work" that turns out not to be broken.

Nothing happens when you hold the card to the phone

Check that NFC is on, then move the card slowly across the back of the phone: the antenna is a small area, and on many phones it sits near the camera rather than in the middle. A thick case can be enough to stop it.

You lifted the card during a write

Nothing is broken. Hold it there again — the app rewrites every page from the start and finishes the job. This is true at every point where a write can be interrupted.

The card shows no playlist name

A missing title is a normal outcome, not a failure. The name is fetched from a public page and that lookup is optional — if you turned the switch off, or the page did not answer, the card is still correct. The link is what the player reads, not the name.

What to put in a report

The app can write most of this for you: the help screen composes an email with the chip type, the card's serial number, its settings bytes and the result of the last operation already filled in — with the card's token masked out, because that part is nobody's business, including ours.

Adding these by hand helps too:

  • Phone model and Android or iOS version.
  • What the packet of blank cards claimed the chip was.
  • What you saw on screen, in your own words, and at which step.
  • Whether the player has downloaded the playlist since.

Refunds and purchases

The unlock is a one-time purchase handled by the store you installed from. Google Play can refund it directly within 48 hours; after that, or on the App Store, write to us and we will sort it out. The full policy is on the terms page.

Changed phone and the unlock is missing? Use "Restore purchase" in the app — it asks the store, which is where the purchase actually lives.

Privacy

Milvo has no accounts and no servers of ours, and the app sends nothing about you anywhere. The details are on the privacy policy page.

Checking a card is free, unlimited, and never writes to it.
